Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Churhat is situated by the side of holly River SON at a distance of 28 Kms from the Distt. HQ and 1.2 kms away from Ratriya Rajya Marg No. 75. The location is conveniently connected to road, railways and Air. Being residential by establishment, It is set up in an area of 30 acres with Admn. Building, Hostel for Boys and Girls, Staff Residence, Guest House, Mess, Well equipped Computer, Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Vocational labs, MP Hall with 500 capacity, Playground, Library, Art gallery and with 24 Hrs supply of water & electricity.

School Building:  

The School Building at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Churhat plays the important role of carrying out all the administrative activities and smooth functioning of the School. School building consists of Principal Room, Office, Staff Room, Store Room etc. It caters to the needs of the students, staff members and the employees; purchases and keeps a check on the utilization of stock to ensure that there are no shortfalls of necessary materials, and that maintenance works are well taken care of at all times.

Multipurpose Hall:  

At the multipurpose hall, workshops, meetings and group discussions, morning and evening assembly, events and seminars are conducted in a large and open space, and up to 600 people can be gathered in the multipurpose at the same time.

Hostels:  

For the students the school provides hostel facility for both boys and girls. Hostels are divided in four houses:

1.      Arawali (Senior/Junior/Girls).

2.      Nilgiri (Senior/Junior/Girls).

3.      Shivalic (Senior/Junior/Girls).

4.      Udaygiri (Senior/Junior/Girls).

There is constant supervision and monitoring on the students’ activities and as emphasis is laid on safety of the students, movement outside both the hostels requires a written permission from the respective wardens.

 
Science Labs:  

The fully equipped Biology, Chemistry and Physics labs  are designed to take care of the needs of the students for the Board Exams. Experiments in these labs are explained to and done by the students, with care given to intricate details of each of them, so that once imbibed, the details remain in the young minds for future times.

Computer Lab:

Library:  

Our School Library is established in a big hall having 5500 library books. the number of books increasing with each passing day. All library books have been arranged in subject wise manner in 16 Steel Almirah. A reference section has been developed with approximate 2000 books are arranged classified manner. A Carrier Counseling Corner is also fixed in a 10’ X 6’ area near entrance of the library. In the library 40 students accommodation is also available for classwise reading purpose. The students come class & section wise in particular academic class period in Academic hour’s for reading, writing & refer to the own subject resource materials. Library having a separate Text Book section for all students of this vidyalaya. The libraries have sections ranging from textbooks and reference books to fiction and general knowledge. Since the school aims at making learning a fun process, there is an assortment of books and magazines available on general topics and separate sections for hobby-related books, books on travel, animals and birds, short stories, drama, poetry, astrology and tens of other topics. All subject of each class are available in library Text Book section. Library acquired 5 English News Papers, 5 Hindi News Papers for Houses & Others 6 News Papers for Administrative Block. About 26 magazines are collected from local news paper agency & 15 No. of Journal, Report & Other reference material has been collected from different Source of publications. Library having recently a computer for Automation of the Library System. The Automation of library in progress. All books in library is accessing on computer, The member slip of teacher and students, Issue system of library books has been done. 

Sports Room/Grounds:  

Sports grounds and Sports Room has facilities for cricket, football and volleyball, with dedicated grounds for each, along with basketball, handball, table tennis and badminton courts. The school has also its own gymnasiums, for students, and the for the faculty members as well.

Medical Room:  

The Medical at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Churhat not only provides medical attention to those who are unwell but also conducts yearly health checkups for both students and faculty members. The hostel resident students also have this facility available to them around the clock.

Music Room & Arts Room:  

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Churhat, following its objective of promoting extra-curricular activities along with the curriculum, has a music room and arts room. This facilities introduces the students to the wonderful world of music and arts in its own unique way and, at the same time, it helps them to unwind from the daily routine of studies and exams. Music room gives students a unique opportunity to learn Indian Classical, Chhattisgarhi Music and Dances, Vocal and Instrumental Music along with Dance right from the basics and gradually progressing to mastering their talents. An array of musical instruments, such as the sitar, tabla, harmonium and keyboard is available at the Music room. Arts room provide everything to the students to express and widen their creativity.
